About
Ashish is a screenwriter and story consultant drawn to character-driven stories that encourage diversity and offer hope in worlds both real and imagined.
He co-wrote IT LIVES INSIDE (2023), a horror feature produced by Neon and QC Entertainment which premiered at #7 at the US box office. He also co-wrote HUSH HUSH (2022), an Amazon mystery-drama series produced by Abundantia Entertainment. In 2017, Ashish served as an Additional Producer on the critically-acclaimed short film SISAK. His 2018 mystery-drama LOVELY, DARK AND DEEP was a quarterfinalist in the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting.
Ashish has worked for nearly a decade as a script reader and story consultant, assessing screenplays for Spec Scout, Slated and Ronnie Screwvala, among other clients in the US, UK and India. In 2016 and 2017, he covered the upfront season extensively for The Tracking Board, assessing drama pilots in consideration by CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX and the CW.
He also dabbles in fiction, poetry and photography. His short story THE STORY OF A SUICIDE appeared in the Winter 2012 issue of New South. His 2008 short story THE JAUNT appeared in Inthefray, and was nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
Ashish was previously an in-house corporate counsel at Ernst & Young, and a publicist at Penguin Random House. He was born in New Delhi, India in 1986 and currently lives in Mumbai.
